“Sweeney Todd” Mrs. Lovett’s NEW Pie Shop Sign

Sign created by using jig saw to cut intricate shape. Sign painted gray on front and back. I also added shadows and embossing to the cut out letters to elevate their status. Cut foam rope using the band saw and then sponge painted metallic silver, along with highlighted sections in white. Attached those using hot glue at a lower temperature so as not to melt the foam. Next, I created hot glue molds from a decorative trim mold to create the small elements seen in the corners. I then finally spray painted all decorative elements gold and glues all elements - including the letters - on using a combination of hot glue and wood glue. I tried to reinforce the letters using a brad gun but it was quickly apparent it would splinter the letters.
